Interdisciplinary Metaverse Building 2023 -

Using Accessible VR for Interdisciplinary Teaching, Learning and Collaboration.

This project is supported by a SATLE award from the National Forum For the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, granted via CPID the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation and Development TUS.

The aim is to explore the use of accessible user-friendly VR to enable staff and learners from BA to PhD level, to creatively interact and engage within virtual reality. Focus is on exploring the potential of VR for creative collaboration, content creation and the showcasing of projects through the use of virtual spaces, and live events. An OAR Toolkit is also being developed for follow on training.

PMI VR Degree Showcase 2021

Durring the Covid-19 Lockdowns, students on the BA in Photography Moving Image at LSAD engaged with the challenge of imagining a new format for their Final Year Degree Showcase. In the event a traditional exhibition space an alternative was needed. In addition to collaboratively creating a Web VR Showcase, a range of online technologies and platforms were used to simulate the unique qualities of working together in a Fine Art studio-environment. The project was supported by a LEP Grant from The National Forum For the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning, which enabled resourcing industry partnership with Procad Limerick, also promoting professional practice and authentic cerative industries contact for gratudates.
